When you step away from competing full-time, you can really switch off, and it can be hard to get back into that headspace, but I\u2019m excited to feel that energy and that challenge again. I&#8217;m definitely excited to get back to all of those locations.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0675\/6545\/3497\/files\/Stephanie_Gilmore__Bells22_RYD_8749_Beatriz_Ryder.jpg?v=1763611263\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>In her two years away from the tour, Gilmore has been travelling the world on The Search with Tom Curren, Mick Fanning, and Mason Ho, alongside creating two signature Rip Curl x Stephanie Gilmore apparel collections. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hjlr58Sju5g?si=XSzwa9cCfg_bbjYc\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI\u2019ve had incredible opportunities over the last few years, and it\u2019s actually been busier than I could have imagined,\u201d<\/strong> Gilmore said. <strong>\u201cIt will be nice to get back on Tour and have a schedule mapped out for the year.\u202f It\u2019s been fun, but I\u2019m looking forward to getting back into a bit more of a routine, so we\u2019ll see where that leads me.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steph isn\u2019t the only veteran returning to the tour in 2026, with long-time rival and 5X World Champion Carissa Moore also announcing her return to the CT earlier this week. These announcements come off the back of the WSL\u2019s decision to ditch the Final 5 format in favour of reverting back to a traditional points-based system. \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0675\/6545\/3497\/files\/Stephanie_Gilmore_25GoldCoast_SHD03562_Andrew_Shield.jpg?v=1763611263\"><\/p>\n<p>With her sights now set on a ninth World Title, Gilmore will rejoin a fiercely competitive field of next-generation surfers, including 2025 World Champion and fellow Rip Curl teammate\u00a0<a href=\"\/pages\/molly-picklum\">Molly Picklum<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 World Championship Tour kicks off on April 1 with the <a href=\"\/pages\/rip-curl-pro-bells-beach\">Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach<\/a>, and we can\u2019t wait to see Steph\u2019s timeless surfing back on Tour once again.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>8X World Champion Stephanie Gilmore will return to the World Championship Tour (CT) in 2026.
